The Swiss are at again, and this time they are aiming for the sun! Well, they are at hoping the sun is aiming at them and their newly unveiled solar plane. The plane is called the Solar Impluse HB-SIA, very catchy don'tcha think? This tiny plane weighs about as much as your average sedan but has the wingspan of a 747 to accommodate each of its 12,000 solar cells. Altogether this thing has 4 engines that each have a whopping output of 10 horsepower. The goal behind the makers of this aircraft is to prove that if we can run one tiny plane with huge wings on solar power, then we can power the earth and everything we use on it with renewable energy. The plane is set to fly around the earth for 36 hours in 2010 to prove their point. Good Luck fellas!
